The more risks you allow children to take, the better they learn to look after themselvesOver recent years there has been an increasing amount of research suggesting that Outdoor Learning and a connection with the outdoors in children is vital to the development of good mental, physical and emotional health, as well as increasing concentration in the classroom and allowing students with less of an academic nature to flourish.

Here at Moving Mountains we are not a Forest School, nor are we an adventure centre. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to understand how we can sustainably use and work with nature to survive. Our focus is on developing skills that involve natural materials and the great outdoors, hence why our tag line is “Outdoor Skills Education”.

We work with with all school age groups including Primary Schools and Secondary Schools, tailoring all activities to the age and ability of the class in question.

Use the menu options above to find out about the full range of services that we offer to schools, ranging from activities like orienteering and archery, through workshops in bushcraft and teambuilding, to residentials at our campsite in the South Gloucestershire countryside.

We are very aware that Schools can struggle to fund extra-curricular activities, so we have designed programmes which make perfect use of both Pupil Premium and Sport Premium funding. We can provide “interventions” for students who are struggling in the classroom, or whole class sessions.

As well as sessions during the school day, Moving Mountains are also able to provide after school clubs, or even activities for school fetes, fairs or fundraisers.
